The Banyuwangi Mystery (Shaman Wizard)

The film follows Ratmono, who becomes infatuated with a Gandrung Banyuwangi dancer, leading him to contemplate divorce from his wife. His pursuit of the dancer results in his financial ruin, ultimately culminating in his tragic suicide. This act sparks animosity among the villagers towards voodoo shamans, prompting a violent backlash against them.

As the village descends into chaos, a Muslim minister named Sutar intervenes to prevent further harm against the shamans. However, a series of mysterious killings ensues, targeting those believed to be involved in voodoo practices. The investigation reveals that masked men are responsible, leading to suspicion against local religious figures. The narrative leaves viewers with an open-ended mystery, symbolized by a young boy carrying the national flag alongside his peers at the film's conclusion.
