The Beast of Comedy

The film follows Tsuchiya, a young man living with his single mother in Osaka. After graduating high school, he struggles to find serious work and instead dedicates himself to writing jokes for a variety show. His relentless pursuit of recognition leads him to send hundreds of joke submissions daily in hopes of becoming a legendary figure in comedy.

As Tsuchiya navigates his life, he meets a drifter named Pink, who offers him work at a bar. This opportunity allows Tsuchiya to further his passion as he becomes a "postcard craftsman," submitting material to a radio program. His unique contributions eventually catch the attention of entertainers on the show, including a comedian from a duo he admires, leading to a pivotal moment in his journey. With aspirations of success in Tokyo, Tsuchiya's story reflects the challenges and aspirations of pursuing a dream in the face of adversity.
