The Big Bee is a tense little thriller that really nails that mid-90s vibe with its cold, mechanical atmosphere. The plot centers around a remote-controlled helicopter threatening a nuclear power plant, which is a nice choice for escalating tension. There’s a real sense of claustrophobia as the clock ticks down. It’s not often you see practical effects used in such a straightforward context, but this film does it. There's something raw about the performances—especially from the minor characters caught in the chaos, making their reactions feel genuine. It’s a film that keeps you guessing and invests in the moral dilemmas facing the characters, which is pretty compelling for a thriller of this nature.
