The Buddy: Yaji and Kita

This film follows the adventures of Tajibee, a cockfighting expert, and Kitahachi, a carpenter, who survive a shipwreck near Beppu. They rescue Sakamoto Ryoma from dangerous masked samurai, leading them to a critical mission involving a secret letter for Saigo Takamori of Satsuma. However, their journey takes a twist when they are pursued by a shogunate spy named Chizou.

As they navigate through obstacles, including a pickpocket named Okoma who steals their wallet and the letter, the duo's comedic misadventures unfold. In the end, they deliver the letter only to discover it was a decoy intended to mislead their enemies.
