The Casting

The Casting presents a unique video installation that combines interviews and scripted performances. Omer Fast captures two contrasting tales: one set in Bavaria, focusing on a sergeant's relationship with a German girl, and the other set outside Baghdad, dealing with a roadside bomb incident. These narratives are woven together to create a thought-provoking experience.

Fast’s approach involves processing real-life stories into a screenplay, which is then interpreted by actors in silent tableaux. This method of storytelling invites viewers to engage with the themes of love, trauma, and the consequences of war.
