The Chair

In The Chair, Giorgi Mchedlishvili experiences a downfall after losing his election. Stripped of his office, car, and power, he faces eviction from his home. The story takes an unusual turn as his chair, which possesses a life of its own, propels him into unexpected actions during his struggles.

The narrative also introduces Donara, a refugee woman whom Giorgi eventually marries. As pressures mount from the new government and media, the tension escalates. Giorgi's confrontation with his sister-in-law Magda adds complexity to his situation, culminating in an intense standoff with the authorities. His sentient chair aids him in making a daring escape back to his village, blending absurdity with poignant moments.
