The Crying Bird

The Crying Bird follows Seok-Bong, a man who travels to Seoul for his studies but ultimately abandons them. On his journey back home, he encounters Ok-Yeo, and they share a passionate love. However, Ok-Yeo is later disheartened to discover that her intended husband is a nobleman named Hwang Seok-Bong, not the Seok-Bong she fell in love with.

The film's tension escalates as Hwang becomes aware of Ok-Yeo's connection to Seok-Bong, leading to tragic outcomes. Seok-Bong dies on the day of Ok-Yeo's wedding, and she hears his voice urging her to take drastic action against Hwang. In a moment of despair, Ok-Yeo stabs Hwang and meets her own fate, falling over a precipice while her mother-in-law laughs maniacally. This intertwining of love, betrayal, and horror makes The Crying Bird a unique piece.
