David Fincher’s take on F. Scott Fitzgerald’s short story offers something pretty unique. The pacing can feel languid, but it suits the story of aging in reverse. The production design is really beautiful, capturing the essence of New Orleans through various decades. Brad Pitt’s performance is intriguing, especially how he conveys the weight of experience in a youthful body. The makeup and practical effects used to age him backwards are quite impressive—definitely a highlight. The film tackles heavy themes like love and loss, and you can feel the bittersweet tone throughout. Not your typical romance, that's for sure.
