The Empty Cab

The film follows Henry Egbert Xerxes, a cub reporter assigned to investigate a gang of counterfeiters at the Red Dog Inn. His adventure begins when he witnesses a girl being abducted into a cab, a girl he previously saw passing counterfeit money. As he pursues the cab, he finds it empty, leading him to uncover the mystery at the inn where the girl is held captive.

With a combination of action and intrigue, Henry faces off against thugs in a series of rough encounters. Eventually, he manages to rescue the girl and rushes home to document his story. However, he soon learns that the entire scenario was a setup to test his instincts as a reporter, adding a layer of irony to the narrative.
