The Engaged Woman

Andrew Christie runs the Dolphin hotel in Cornwall, which is facing stiff competition from low-cost holiday options. As his wife Nell leaves him to manage a hotel in the Maldives, Andrew's business faces the threat of bankruptcy due to the potential cancellation of his main tour operator. In a bid to save his hotel, he decides to host traditional Indian weddings, but to sell this idea, he pretends to be supported by an Indian wife.

To fulfill this role, Andrew recruits Rajani Sharma, a part-time maid and art student. Meanwhile, her father, banker Murali Sharma, is pushing for her to enter into an arranged marriage with Tarun from India. The film weaves together comedy and romance as Andrew navigates this unconventional situation, aiming to keep his hotel afloat while dealing with cultural expectations and personal relationships.
