The Excluded

Die Ausgesperrten follows an unlikely group of four youths who come together in Vienna for different reasons, ultimately turning to mugging. The characters include fraternal twins, a blue-collar worker, and the daughter of wealthy parents seeking a taste of a rougher life.

The narrative provides a critical perspective on the socio-economic landscape of 1950s Austria, highlighting the stark contrast between those who benefited from the Economic Miracle and those who were excluded. This film also engages with Austria's Nazi history, examining how its influence lingers in contemporary society despite a prevailing silence on the subject.
