The Flock has this gritty, unsettling vibe that really gets under your skin. Andrew Lau's direction gives it a raw, almost documentary feel, which suits the dark subject matter. Richard Gere as Erroll Babbage is intense—his character's obsession and moral ambiguity are pretty compelling. The film dives deep into the S&M underground, exploring themes of control and the consequences of unchecked desire. Pacing is uneven at times, but it builds tension effectively. The practical effects in certain scenes are shockingly impactful, adding to the overall heaviness. It doesn't shy away from the ugliness of its themes, making it a distinct entry in the crime drama genre. Definitely not for the faint-hearted, but there’s something hauntingly memorable about it.
