The Forfeit

The Forfeit tells the story of Jeffrey Masters, who is disinherited by his father and ventures to Texas, where he finds wealth in cattle ranching. His younger brother, Bob, faces similar fate after marrying Elvine Van Blooren, known as Effie, against their father's wishes. Bob's descent into rustling leads him to become the leader of a gang, while Effie unwittingly becomes involved in their criminal activities when she learns of their hideout and seeks a reward for her information.
