The Goofball

The Goofball follows Hisashi, who loses his temp job due to his impulsive behavior. His life takes a turn when he encounters Chikako, a shoplifting housewife, and he unwittingly agrees to help her find her runaway son, Masaru. However, things spiral out of control when Masaru begins to follow Hisashi around instead of returning home.

As the trio navigates their chaotic circumstances, which even includes stealing a gun from a police officer, Hisashi and Masaru form an unexpected bond. This film captures the struggles of individuals who find it difficult to conform to societal norms while developing friendships in the most unusual situations. The Goofball offers a glimpse into the lives of characters who share a sense of alienation and the humor that can arise from their misadventures.
