The Heavenly Plan

The story centers on two altar boys, Eustaquio and Heriberto, who have grown up under the guidance of Father Roberto, their elderly mentor. As Father Roberto nears the end of his life, the boys find themselves tasked with protecting him and the church. Eustaquio struggles with his desire for control, while Heriberto is infatuated with Maria, a young woman who hardly acknowledges him.

As they confront their first existential crises, the two boys devise a risky plan, referred to as the heavenly plan. This narrative not only captures their personal journeys but also reflects on the challenges of youth and the search for identity within the confines of duty and desire. With a cast featuring Gastón Pauls, Víctor Laplace, and Paula Sartor, the film offers a poignant look at the complexities of growing up in a spiritual environment amid the vastness of the jungle.
