The Hidden Half

The film follows an official sent from Tehran to hear the final appeal of a woman sentenced to death. As he prepares for this somber task, he reads a letter from his wife, Fereshteh Samimi, recounting her student days during the 1978 revolution.

Through flashbacks, the audience learns about Fereshteh's journey from her province to joining a Communist youth group and her experiences with political turmoil. Her story intertwines with that of the woman facing execution, highlighting the struggles faced by women in Iran, often referred to as the "hidden half" of society.
