The House Between the Fields

The House Between the Fields follows agricultural engineer Voica Teodorescu as she returns to her village after university. She joins a team of engineers planning a dam and irrigation project while navigating her engagement to Ilarie and her attraction to local engineer Radu.

Radu's conflict with the local boss Vasile Axente deepens the drama when he seeks support from village vice-mayor Dumitru Vardaru. The situation becomes critical when a large sum from the public works budget goes missing, leading to Radu's investigation for embezzlement. This event tests his relationships with Voica and the villagers, creating a tense atmosphere that reflects the complexities of rural life and governance.
