So 'The Last Word' is this quirky little drama that dives into the odd world of a guy, Evan Merck, who writes suicide notes. Kind of dark, but there's a certain charm to it. The pacing feels just right, not rushed, allowing the characters to breathe. When Evan meets Charlotte, it creates this interesting dynamic. Her free spirit clashes with his somber profession, leading to some poignant moments. The performances are understated, which fits the tone perfectly. You get a real sense of the weight of loss and the absurdity of life. There’s something distinctively offbeat about it that lingers with you. It's a film that explores heavy themes but does so with an unusual lightness, which I think is quite refreshing.
