The Liar's Circle

Cecilia arrives in Guadalajara to pursue her dream of becoming a writer at the Faculty of Literature. She quickly becomes involved with Nicolás and Aristeo, who claim to lead a revolutionary literary movement called the Underground Ultraism. This group introduces her to Pita, an openly bisexual poet, with whom she develops a deep connection.

As Cecilia bonds with her new friends, she discovers a sense of belonging within this artistic circle. However, the dynamics begin to shift as envy and rivalry threaten the friendships that initially brought them together. The film presents a nuanced exploration of personal and artistic growth against the backdrop of a changing literary landscape in Mexico.
