The Lodger

The Lodger centers on Kasia, a dance school student who shares a large flat with her mother. When her mother rents a room to a sports high school student, an unconventional friendship develops between Kasia and the lodger, marked by unspoken connections rather than direct interactions.

This film is based on the story "Fresh paint" by Bogna Hołyńska and reflects on the Sixth Commandment, "You shall not commit adultery." As part of the Dekalog 89+ project, it features contributions from ten young directors, each interpreting the moral themes from Kieślowski's Decalogue for contemporary audiences. The film offers a fresh perspective on the lasting impact of these ethical dilemmas on younger generations.
