The Magical Hat

The Magical Hat features the journey of two poor students, Strnad and Křepelka, who find solace in the notion of an inheritance. Their excitement turns to disappointment when they learn that Křepelka's inheritance is merely an old hat. The film takes a comedic turn as Křepelka enlists the help of his miserly relative, merchant Koliáš, who is reluctant to accept his poor nephew's romantic aspirations toward his ward, Bětuška.
