The Missing Heir

The Missing Heir centers on Ginpei, a man caught in a web of family and betrayal. After trying to secure money for his sick mother, he finds himself embroiled in conflicts with castle patrol members. His fortunes shift when he is reconciled with the family elder Ishikawa Yoriimo, who offers him support amidst personal tragedy.

As Ginpei seeks solace from Okin, the daughter of a soba shop owner, he becomes entangled in the dynamics of the Ishikawa household. His relationships with Yoriimo's family, especially with Yoriimo's wife and child, grow as he accompanies them to the castle. However, a darker plot unfolds as he discovers the ambitions of Otsuki Gyobu and Osada no Kata, who conspire to secure the future of their own interests.
