The Natural History of Parking Lots

The film follows Chris, a high school senior who finds himself in trouble with the police after joy riding in stolen cars. His wealthy father, who is emotionally distant, hires Chris's older brother, Lance, to keep him out of further trouble. Lance is involved in the underworld and initially sees this as just a cover for his activities. However, as they spend more time together, a genuine bond forms between the two brothers.

As Chris begins to take school seriously and emerge from his shell, the pressures of Lance's criminal lifestyle and the revelation that their father is paying Lance to care for Chris threaten to unravel their relationship.
