"The Party Is Over" is an interesting dive into the lives of three college roommates in Southern California, who navigate the complexities of relationships while basking in their privileged existence. There’s a distinct tone that’s both light-hearted and strangely unsettling, capturing that weird mix of freedom and obsession that often comes with youth. The pacing feels a bit off at times, which actually adds to its charm, allowing the characters' quirks to unfold. Performances are a mixed bag, with some really standing out, while others feel almost caricatured. This film doesn’t shy away from exploring the darker sides of human connection, making it a rather unique entry in the comedy genre, despite the lack of a well-known director. It’s definitely one of those films that sticks with you, for better or worse.
