The Pontians

The film follows Giorikas and Kostikas, two Pontian immigrants who return to Greece from Germany. Their journey is driven by a quest to uncover the origins of jokes told about Pontians and to identify those responsible for spreading them. As the story unfolds, they discover that some of their own people contribute to these jokes.

Kostikas initially attempts to halt the circulation of these jokes, believing that they reflect poorly on their community. However, he soon realizes that life without humor is dull and decides to allow the jokes to circulate once more. This resolution highlights the complex relationship between identity, humor, and cultural narratives within the Pontian community. The film's comedic elements serve not only as entertainment but also as a reflection on the importance of laughter in navigating life's challenges.
