The Price of Life

At the end of 1991, Ivan, a prisoner, escapes from a Serbian camp and finds refuge on the property of a wealthy Serbian landowner named Stevan. Faced with a choice between capture and servitude, Ivan decides to work for Stevan, which leads him to become entangled with the landowner's troubled family.

As Ivan adjusts to life on the farm, he meets Anica, the beautiful Croatian daughter-in-law of Stevan, who is married to a violent son fighting in Croatia. A secret love affair blossoms between Ivan and Anica, adding complexity to the tense environment shaped by war. The film delves into the personal struggles of its characters amidst the broader conflict, providing a poignant look at love and loyalty in a time of division.
