The Red Pill

The Red Pill follows the life of Anjali Forber-Pratt, an Illinois-based Paralympian who was adopted from India and became paralyzed shortly after arriving in the United States. Despite facing numerous challenges, including skepticism from educators, Anjali's determination led her to become a PhD graduate and a world record holder in 200m wheelchair racing. Her journey, alongside those of her mentors and proteges, showcases the resilience and strength found within the disability sports community.

The documentary features Anjali’s mentor, Jean Driscoll, an eight-time winner of the Boston Marathon, and Jean's own mentor, Tim Nugent, who advocated for the rights of disabled WWII veterans. Their stories, along with those of Anjali's teenage proteges, illustrate the significant impact of mentorship and community in overcoming obstacles in the world of sports. The film serves as a powerful reminder of the progress made in disability sports and the ongoing journey for equality and representation.
