The Rib

The Rib follows the life of 32-year-old designer Huanyu, who understands his identity as a woman despite being born male. Surrounded by supportive friends, doctors, and a straight best friend who serves as his roommate, Huanyu's journey takes a turn when he faces legal hurdles regarding sex reassignment surgery. The film highlights the tension between his desire for authenticity and the rigid beliefs of his pious Christian father, who views the transition as a sin.
