The ring-necked dove

The story follows Seyed Morteza, a pigeon fancier living in Kashan with his blind mother. He captures a coveted ring-necked dove, which draws the attention of local competitors. However, his mother views the dove as a bad omen and urges him to release it. As Morteza navigates his passion for pigeons, he also faces familial expectations when his uncle sends him to propose to his fiancée, Tooba.

The narrative deepens as Morteza and Tooba fall in love and marry, yet he keeps their relationship a secret from his mother and uncle. This leads to tension when his mother discovers the truth, resulting in her cursing Morteza. The film examines the conflicts between personal desires and family obligations, encapsulating the complexities of love and loyalty in a traditional setting.
