The Salonika Rattles

The Salonika Rattles tells the story of Cande, the son of a Prilep pilgrim, who deceives his father to misappropriate 3000 altans meant for trade. Instead of fulfilling his father's expectations, he spends the money on his mistress, Fatime. This leads to comedic chaos when his father, Aji Jankula, arrives in search of Cande, accompanied by his servant, Sekula.

The film also introduces Itar Pejo, a servant of Yashar Bey, who shares a desire for Fatime, complicating matters further. This mix of personal ambition and humorous mishaps drives the narrative, reflecting the comedic genre of the era. With a cast that includes Blagoja Spirkoski-Džumerko and Sabina Toziya, the film presents a story of comedic misunderstandings and romantic pursuits against the backdrop of Thessaloniki.
