Set in 1880, The Second Greatest Sex revolves around the town of Osawkie, Kansas, which is embroiled in a feud with the rival town of Mandaroon over the county seat. The men of Osawkie are frequently absent due to this conflict, leading to chaos at home. The plot thickens when Matt Davis, on his wedding night, feels the need to leave for another confrontation. In response, his bride, Liza, inspired by her teacher Cassie's advice, initiates a marital strike to bring the men back to their senses.
