The Sentimentalists

The film follows an aged man known as ‘The Master,’ who lives a seemingly pristine life in a luxurious villa by the beach. Beneath this facade, he engages in illegal activities such as antiquities trafficking and loan sharking.

Two henchmen, Mercury and John, complicate the situation as they each develop dangerous infatuations. Mercury finds himself drawn to ‘The Master’s’ daughter, while John becomes obsessed with a prostitute. Their emotional entanglements and fatal mistakes highlight the film's exploration of morality and sentimentality in a world rife with crime.
