The Seventh Sign is a fascinating blend of drama and horror with an apocalyptic twist. Abby, played by Demi Moore, is pregnant and dealing with some serious existential dread as her life intersects with a mysterious boarder who’s got some pretty divine plans in store. The film's atmosphere is this eerie mix of dread and intrigue, with solid pacing that keeps you engaged, even if it meanders a bit. The practical effects are interesting for the time, especially the plagues, which add a visceral edge to the impending doom. I found the performances to be a highlight, especially Moore's as she navigates her complex fears of motherhood against a backdrop of biblical prophecy. It’s a unique entry in the late '80s horror canon for sure.
