The Sherman Oaks Haunting is one of those low-budget horror flicks that really leans into its setting, you know? The apartment feels almost like a character itself, the way the shadows play and the creaky floors add to the tension. John and Jason, our leads, are your classic paranormal investigator types, but there's a certain earnestness to their performances that keeps it grounded. The pacing is a bit uneven at times, but it builds up a solid sense of dread before things spiral into chaos with that evil spirit. The practical effects are surprisingly well done, which adds a layer of authenticity that digital just can’t replicate. The atmosphere is thick, and if you like tales of the supernatural with a bit of a regional touch, this one has its moments.
Good example of regional horror. · Interesting practical effects. · Watch for the atmosphere.
