The Sitter is a curious blend of slacker comedy and chaotic adventure, directed by David Gordon Green. You have Noah, played by Jonah Hill, who’s clearly out of his element. Instead of the usual heartwarming antics, he’s much more inclined to roll his eyes and crack jokes while reluctantly babysitting. The atmosphere is a mix of youthful rebellion and absurdity, as Noah’s night spirals out of control when he attempts to juggle a booty call, three rowdy kids, and a series of misadventures. The pacing feels almost frenetic, with a mix of awkward humor and genuine moments. The performances are solid, especially Hill’s, who manages to bring a certain charm to his otherwise irresponsible character. It’s not groundbreaking, but it has this charm that keeps you invested.
