The Slowest Train

The Slowest Train follows a military train journey from a recently liberated city in 1943. The narrative centers around a special carriage belonging to divisional printing-works, where the manager, expecting solitude, finds himself increasingly surrounded by fellow travelers. These characters include an injured soldier and his companion, a pregnant woman, communist party members, and an actress, all of whom bring their own war-torn stories.

As the train progresses, the correspondent's initial desire for privacy is challenged by the realities of war. The film poignantly illustrates the struggles and resilience of individuals affected by conflict, offering a unique perspective on the impact of war on everyday lives.
