The Smile of the Virgin

The Smile of the Virgin follows Marita, a little girl living in the countryside with her grandmother. With her best friend Anselmo, she visits Guadalupe's Basilica, an important church in Mexico City. There, Marita learns about the Virgin Guadalupe and her miraculous apparitions, shaping her understanding of faith and responsibility.

Throughout the film, Marita struggles with her school life and her worries about her animals, particularly a cow that isn't producing milk. As she interacts with the church and hears the Virgin's voice, she faces challenges that prompt her to reconsider her behavior and attitudes towards education and responsibility.
