The Steep Path

In The Steep Path, nine volunteers embark on a challenging project to dig a tunnel through rugged mountains. Among them are three miners, while the others join from various regions for different motivations. As winter sets in, a blizzard cuts off their supplies, and the tunnel collapses just a hundred meters from completion.

Despite the hardships, one volunteer, the communist Damjan, remains determined to finish the work. His commitment inspires the others, who, initially overwhelmed with shame for abandoning their task, ultimately return to support Damjan in completing the tunnel. The film captures the struggle against nature and the internal battles faced by the characters, making it a poignant exploration of human resolve in difficult circumstances.
