The Thoroughbred

The film centers on Bob Beemis, who aspires to integrate his family into New York's elite social scene. Despite his ambitions, he only manages to bond with Archie de Rennsaler and enjoy the company of chorus girls. Bob's romantic interest in one of the chorus girls adds a layer of charm to the story.

When Bob's uncle arrives to evaluate his progress and discovers that he hasn't achieved much, he takes drastic measures by closing Bob's bank account. Faced with financial ruin, Bob devises a plan to enter his horse in a major race. This comedic twist highlights the lengths he will go to reclaim his social standing and achieve his dreams in a whimsical way.
