The Ultimate Weapon is one of those late '90s action flicks that delivers on the adrenaline but feels a bit rough around the edges, which I kind of appreciate. The pacing can be uneven at times, but it really builds tension as 'Hardball' Cutter realizes he's deep in the muck with IRA gunrunners. The practical effects have that gritty authenticity that you don’t see much in today’s CGI-heavy productions. Performances are solid, especially from the lead, who brings a certain gravitas to the role. The themes of betrayal and loyalty run deep, and the atmosphere is thick with suspense. It’s not groundbreaking, but it captures a certain vibe of the era that some collectors might find interesting.
