Michael Cheevers has spent a decade in a mailroom, lacking ambition and direction. After a drunken mishap leads to his demise, he unexpectedly enters Purgatory, where he encounters Shanni Smith, a self-assured secretary, and Martha Magdalene, a pragmatic Human Resources manager. Their interactions set the tone for Michael’s experience in the afterlife.

As he navigates his new reality, Michael learns that his laid-back lifestyle has consequences.
