The Vultures

Set on April 5, 1943, The Vultures follows a battalion of the Foreign Legion arriving in El Ksour, Tunisia. Their mission is to escort a fortune in gold bars, but they face a German ambush that decimates their ranks, leaving only four survivors. Sergeant Augagneur, with his street smarts, leads the remaining Legionnaires in a counterattack against the Germans.

The narrative unfolds with the arrival of the bank manager and his wife, and the capture of a German lieutenant by the French forces. As the plot progresses, tensions rise as Augagneur devises a plan to steal the gold, while warrant officer Mahuzard grapples with his duty. The film explores themes of loyalty and betrayal as alliances shift and the group faces numerous challenges on their journey south toward Betahoua, all while the gold remains a coveted prize.
