Things to Do in Denver When You're Dead is one of those films that sits in an odd space between noir and dark comedy. Fleder’s direction gives it this laid-back yet tense vibe, which really stands out. The characters are a mix of quirky and desperate, each with their own little quirks that make them memorable. The pacing feels a bit leisurely at times, but it suits the atmosphere, building tension without rush. Plus, the dialogue is sharp and a little off-kilter, which adds to its charm. The practical effects, especially during the violent moments, feel gritty and raw, giving it a certain authenticity. Andy Garcia and Christopher Walken deliver solid performances that anchor the film, making it an interesting watch for those into character-driven crime dramas.
