The film centers around Markonah, who moves to the city for employment, defying her mother's wishes. As she navigates her role as a highway toll worker, she also shares her living space with Milah, a coworker. Markonah's life takes a twist when she catches the attention of Johan, a man of means who frequently travels the highway. Despite his attempts to connect with her through holiday cards, Markonah remains aloof.
