The film follows the story of Kasia and Pawel, a married couple living in the village of Brzozki. As Kasia aspires to return to her studies, Pawel is determined to break free from conventional farming practices to focus on specialized sheep breeding. This clash of ambitions leads to family tensions, particularly with Kasia's parents, who are eager for grandchildren.

The arrival of the Wolanskis introduces further complications, as they offer assistance for Kasia’s education, but with the stipulation that she cares for their child, Piotr. This dynamic adds layers to the narrative, reflecting the struggles between personal aspirations and family expectations.
