Traummusik

The narrative follows Carla, a young opera singer in love with a budding composer named Michele. As Michele strives for recognition in classical music, he writes his first opera, "The Return of Odysseus," specifically for Carla. However, as Carla's star rises with a gig at La Scala in Milan, Michele struggles to find his place in the music world.

Their relationship takes a turn when Michele discovers the harsh criticism of his work from a publisher. Feeling disheartened, he leaves Carla to pursue a different path. A year later, after gaining fame for his pop songs, Michele is still haunted by unfulfilled dreams. Carla orchestrates a comeback for Michele by arranging a premiere of his original opera in Budapest, with herself in the lead role. This film captures the intersecting paths of their careers and personal lives, making it a unique exploration of ambition in the arts.
