Tutor

The film follows Yevgeny Ogarychev, a graduate of Moscow State University, who arrives at the Rīga seaside with his grandmother. Here, he encounters Katya Batistova, a carefree young woman who has not succeeded in gaining university admission. Their relationship begins as Yevgeny assists her in preparing for entrance exams, utilizing the support of his grandmother, a renowned actress.

As Yevgeny’s sincere and determined nature influences Katya, she begins to take her life more seriously. This transformation ultimately leads to a deeper connection between the two, culminating in true love. The film is a poignant exploration of youth, ambition, and the impact of mentorship, set against the backdrop of 1980s Soviet-era cinema.
