Ubi Sunt

Ubi Sunt is a short film that delves into the reflections of mortality and the impermanence of life. The film presents a cartography of an imaginary place in Porto, focusing on social and geographical margins. It features a hybrid and eclectic approach, resulting from an audiovisual research residency that examines the evolving urban landscape.

The title, derived from the Latin phrase meaning "Where are those who were before us?", sets the tone for a reflective essay on life’s transience. The structure is episodic and fragmented, incorporating choreographed cinematography that weaves together memories and contemporary experiences. With a cast that includes Valdemar Santos and Ana Moreira, Ubi Sunt offers a unique perspective on the intersection of memory and the present.
