The story follows Colette, who faces a life-altering tragedy when her husband dies in a mysterious road accident. This event serves as a catalyst for her to reconnect with her daughter Gabrielle, who is dealing with her own issues, including bulimia and her work as a luxury escort.

Gabrielle's interest in Joseph, a Belgian philosophy teacher visiting Montreal, adds another layer to the narrative. She engages him in deep conversations about existence, challenging his perceptions and ultimately drawing him into her world.
