The film takes place in Shanghai during a tumultuous historical period, highlighting the exploitation of underground boxing matches by foreign powers. Master Huo Zhenshan stands as a symbol of national pride, defending Chinese martial arts against a foreign fighter. His mysterious death sets off a chain of events that deeply affect his family and students.

The story follows Shitou, a young man driven by revenge for his father's death. He infiltrates the Huo martial arts school and finds himself in a complex relationship with Huo's daughter, Xiaoyu. As the plot unfolds, Shitou teams up with Huang Jinpeng, who has his own motives. Together, they confront the foreign conspirators and fight to protect their heritage and uncover the truth behind the events.
